(Your friendly guide to investment funds and SPVs)
Happy Friday, Funds Family!
We’re excited to announce that we’re revamping the Investor Opportunity Network as Fundamentals.
Get it? Fundamentals? Sorry.
What does this mean?
Cadence: You can expect an email roughly once a week. Today will be the only day you ever get two emails from us in one day.
Education: We will be focusing on more educational content, both for investment managers (GPs) and investors (LPs). We will have articles, videos, and other content.
Events: We will have virtual webinars and Q&As. We also intend to host live events and meetups.
Deals: We will start sending deals out again, albeit at a somewhat slower rate than previously. As before, we never recommend any investment. It’s up to you to do your own diligence.
Feedback: We heavily encourage commenting and feedback on educational articles. We will eventually compile all of this into a book. If there’s something you want us to touch on, let us know.
Next Steps
First “Real” Posts: We’re already drafting articles on market Fund/SPV terms (sending today), regulatory matters, and explainers on waterfalls.
Live Webinar: We plan to host a free webinar in July to discuss the typical lifecycle of a closed-end investment fund.
Tell Your Friends / Banish Us to the Abyss. If you are excited about this, please tell your friends! We hope to make this a bit of a community (without the more…bizarre aspects of modern-day Twitter). We plan on hosting live events. If you want to unsubscribe, we will miss you, but we understand. There’s a button at the end of this email.
That’s it. No need to make this email longer than it needs to be.
Talk soon,
Michael
